Emergency Eye Care
All emergency eye services are covered by Alberta Health Services and Saskatchewan Health Authority. Walk-ins welcome during the week (and we are sometimes available on weekends, but please call first). Dr. Dornstauder is able to evaluate and manage many emergencies, including eye injuries, red eyes, metal foreign bodies, styes, eye discomfort, light sensitivity, new flashes and/or floaters, and much much more.

Safety Glasses
Lakeshore Optometry has a wide selection of Rx-able safety frames. We are authorized providers of EyeSafe, SafeVision, and Securo Vision; if your company does not provide these services, we can Rx any of our safety frames through Zeiss, complete with a safety stamp. We also provide NDT eye exams for welding inspectors and can fill out any other trade-specific forms.

Specialty Products
Our clinic is a member of Eye Recommend, enabling us to provide care tailored specifically to you and your family! We offer specialty services such as glaucoma testing/management, myopia control options, MSD scleral contact lens fitting, punctal occlusion for dry eye, and glasses for those with a high prescription. We are also a LASIK MD affiliated co-managing optometry clinic, saving you costly trips to the city after laser eye surgery. Lakeshore Optometry is an authorized retailer of dry eye solutions supplied by Alcon, iMed Pharma, and Candorvision. Eyeglass Repairs
Broken glasses? We offer general frame repairs and frame adjustments as a complimentary service, even if you did not purchase your glasses from us. For more damaged glasses, we can hand-edge your lenses into a new frame or solder it back together to hold you by. We also supply kid-friendly durable frames and anti-scratch coatings on all our lenses.

Auxillary Testing
Access our full diagnostic suite, including: visual fields, colour blindness tests, visual therapy assessment, glaucoma and macular degeneration OCT scans and retinal photographs, cataract consultation, myopia management, and laser eye surgery consultation. We also offer genetic testing and Vision Essence custom supplementation options for age-related macular degeneration.

Eyeglass Correction
Zeiss is our primary supplier of lenses, including single vision, progressives, bifocals, and trifocals. Our lens options are available to correct blurry vision at near and distance, nighttime vision and glare, and protect your eyes from the sun. All of our frames and lenses are backed by industry-leading warranties against manufacturer defects.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) has transformed eye care, with the ability to detect the earliest signs of conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. Zeiss is one of the most trusted brands in the vision industry and Lakeshore Optometry is proud to provide its newest and most revolutionary OCT testing to lead the way.
Humphrey Field Analyzer 3
Visual field testing has become much more efficient (and tolerable) with Lakeshore Optometry’s brand new Zeiss HFA3. Maintaining a high degree of accuracy and reliability while investigation conditions such as glaucoma, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and Plaquenil toxicity, testing time of the HFA3 is significantly reduced compared to earlier models of this machine.
Tomey MR 6000
This 6-in-1 testing unit provides measurements of eye pressures, corneal topography (shape) and thickness, dry eye analysis, and a reliable starting point for your glasses prescription, all with the press of a button! The corneal topography function is invaluable to diagnose and monitor the progression of keratoconus.
Optos California
At Lakeshore Optometry, we pay attention to the big picture. Compared to standard retinal cameras, this ultra-wide field retina camera can show over 80% of the posterior aspect of your eye, revealing possible retinal tears or lesions lurking in the shadows.
The Zeiss lens product portfolio offers a variety of optical solutions, ranging from single vision, progressive, anti-fatigue, or task-specific lenses. At Lakeshore Optometry, we primarily retail Zeiss lenses, due to the quality, durability, and superior optics of this widely trusted brand in order to suit any vision needs you may have.
The Nikon lens portfolio merges perfectly with Zeiss’ lens offering to ensure patients have access to the latest polarized Transitions lenses, tints, and mirror coatings. Nikon lens technology is also incorporated into our Optos ultra-wide-field retina photographer to provide crisp and true images of the back of your eyes.
